RODOGRIP®

RODOGRIP® precision locknuts feature a compact and solid construction, they can be locked on a threaded shaft by their built-in tightening system, so there is no need for additional washer, jam-nuts or securing devices.

Distinctive feature

The RODOGRIP® precision locknuts are used to keep bearings or other components firmly positioned onto threaded shafts. They are the ideal devices for position adjustement and for preloading axial and conical roller bearings, either singly or in combination.
The locking nuts can also hold any pulley, torque limiting couplings or recirculation ball screws in their assigned position.

Applications

In the construction of machine tools, and particularly of spindles and power drives, there is a strong demand for means to ensure an accurate, reliable and space-saving locking action and all of above can be satisfied by the RODOGRIP precision locking nuts.

Operating principle

RODOGRIP® locking rings have a solid and compact design; they can be locked on the shaft thanks to an effective integrated locking system, without the need for locknuts, washers or shrink discs.

After screwing the ring nut onto the shaft to the desired position, three hexagonal hollow-head steel grub screws are tightened, placed in radial positions on the outer circumference of the precision ring nut. The grub screws thus tightened press on the brass rods below, which in turn press on the threaded shaft.

The face of the brass rods that presses on the shaft is suitably shaped and matched to the thread course of the ferrule and shaft. Thanks to this feature, clamping is secure and definitive, without any deformation of the parts, neither in the ferrule nor on the shaft.

Surface burnished and oiled, thread and support face super-finished and polished.

Standard production with threads from M10x0.75 up to M200x3.
Special production possible up to M215x4 thread.

General construction principles

RADIAL TIGHTENING NUTS:

Radial threaded grub screws press on brass cylinders, the face of which in contact with the threaded shaft is aligned with the course of the nut and shaft threads. The tightening of the grub screws and the pressure of the cylinders cause the ferrule to clamp on the shaft, without deformation, without damage to the thread and without the possibility of slipping.

Radial clamping narrow series:
– types ANS/PNS – 3 locking points
– types ANSL – 3 locking points, left-hand thread
– types ANSK/PNSK – 2 locking points
– types ANSI – 3 locking points, stainless steel Aisi303

Radial clamping wide series:
– ANSB types – 3 clamping points
– PNST types – clamping/slant angle

AXIAL-LOCKING NUT:

Screw the nut onto the shaft to the desired position, tighten the hollow-head steel screws on the threaded ring, an effective and definitive locking action is achieved, with no possibility of accidental slippage and no deformation of the nut or shaft.
Maximum clamping action even with limited screw tightening.
